Product Description
The Demag AC 300 is a versatile 300-ton all-terrain crane designed for heavy-duty lifting tasks across various industries, including construction, industrial maintenance, and infrastructure projects. This model features a telescopic main boom that extends up to 59 meters, providing excellent reach for a wide range of lifting scenarios. The crane’s design emphasizes compactness and maneuverability, making it suitable for both urban job sites and challenging off-road environments.
The AC 300’s main boom is built with high-strength fine grain steel, featuring a hydraulically telescoping design with four sections. With a maximum boom length of 59 meters, it can handle tasks that require both height and precision. For extended reach, the crane can be fitted with a range of jibs, including a luffing jib that can be configured to lengths of 10.7 meters to 21.7 meters at various offsets (0°, 20°, and 40°). Additionally, a fixed jib option allows for lengths between 20 to 40 meters, further enhancing its versatility in different lifting applications.
Powered by a robust DaimlerChrysler OM 502 LA 8-cylinder diesel engine, the AC 300 delivers 420 kW (570 HP) at 1800 rpm, with a torque of 2700 Nm at 1100 rpm. This powertrain ensures reliable performance across diverse terrains, supported by a 590-liter fuel tank for extended operation. The chassis utilizes a 12x6x8 drive and steering configuration, providing a combination of driven and steerable axles (with axles 2, 5, and 6 driven and axles 1, 2, 5, and 6 steered). This setup allows for excellent maneuverability, especially in confined spaces, with differential lockout controls for enhanced traction.
The crane’s hydropneumatic suspension system, with hydraulic locking capabilities, ensures smooth and stable operation both during transit and while lifting. The Allison CLBT 755 automatic gearbox, coupled with electronic transmission control (ATEC), provides six forward speeds and one reverse, enabling seamless shifts and optimal driving performance. Additional braking systems, including a pneumatic brake system, auxiliary exhaust brake, and a hydraulic retarder, enhance safety during travel and operation.
In the superstructure, the crane is powered by a separate DaimlerChrysler OM 366 LA 6-cylinder engine, rated at 171 kW (233 HP), delivering a torque of 750 Nm. This engine drives the crane’s advanced hydraulic system, which uses variable-displacement axial-piston pumps for precise and efficient control over the boom, hoist, and slewing functions. The system is capable of performing three simultaneous working movements, ensuring efficient operation and faster project execution.
The Demag AC 300 can carry up to 55 tons of counterweights, arranged in modular trays of 5.8 and 11 tons, allowing for flexible configuration and easy transport. The crane also features a sophisticated electronic load monitoring system, which provides real-time feedback on load parameters, boom positioning, and operational limits. This system enhances safety and helps operators maintain precise control over the lifting process. Additional safety devices, such as limit switches, pressure relief valves, and hoist rotation indicators, ensure secure and efficient lifting.
The cab is designed for operator comfort and functionality, featuring a spacious layout with a large, tinted windshield for clear visibility. The cab includes adjustable seats, joystick controls, and a comprehensive control panel with intuitive displays, making it easy for operators to manage complex tasks. It also has climate control features, including heating, to ensure comfort during extended operations.
Optional equipment for the AC 300 includes a superlift attachment, which increases the crane’s lifting capacity, along with additional counterweights for more challenging lifts. Other options such as electric eddy-current brakes, night heaters, and remote control systems provide enhanced functionality and convenience, allowing operators to handle a variety of specialized tasks with ease.
Overall, the Demag AC 300 combines compact design, strong lifting performance, and advanced control systems, making it an efficient and adaptable choice for diverse lifting projects. Its flexibility, coupled with robust engineering and safety features, makes it a reliable crane for both urban and off-road operations, where maneuverability and power are essential.
