Key Features & Benefits
The LTM 1045-3.1 from Liebherr is a highly efficient and compact all terrain crane, designed to deliver maximum lifting performance and versatility for mid-range lifting operations. With a maximum lifting capacity of 45 tonnes and a telescopic boom stretching from 10.3 meters up to 34 meters, the crane is capable of handling a wide range of lifting tasks with ease. An optional single or double folding jib increases the tip height further, allowing flexible boom configurations between 9.2 to 16 meters, mounted at various angles (0°, 20°, 40°, or 60°).
The crane is powered by a Liebherr D936L A6 water-cooled 6-cylinder diesel engine, which delivers 270 kW (367 hp) at 2000 rpm and maximum torque of 1720 Nm between 1000–1500 rpm. Emission standards conform to European 97/68/EG and EPA/CARB directives. The drivetrain includes a ZF 12-speed automatic gearbox with AS-Tronic and a two-stage transfer case with a lockable center differential, providing the crane with reliable and smooth gear transitions across various terrains.
All three axles are steered, with axles 2 and 3 featuring planetary gears and differential locks for superior traction and off-road performance. The hydro-pneumatic suspension system on all axles ensures smooth and stable travel, complemented by a robust braking system with all-wheel servo-air brakes and a spring-loaded hand brake.
The LTM 1045-3.1 is equipped with a 4-point hydraulic outrigger system for firm stability during operations. The telescopic boom is constructed with high-tensile, torsion-resistant materials and features Liebherr’s three-stage hydraulic extension system using a double pulley block, providing consistent and reliable extension under load.
In terms of operation, the crane features a diesel-hydraulic power system allowing simultaneous movement of four crane functions, powered by an axial variable displacement pump and 1 gear pump. Hydraulic oil is supplied from a 585-liter reservoir, ensuring efficient power delivery even under continuous use.
Operator comfort is prioritized through a galvanized steel cab with safety glazing, ergonomic layout, powder-coated finish, and climate protection features. Crane control is managed via hydraulic pilot controls with integrated joysticks and self-centering mechanisms.
Safety systems include the LICCON load moment indicator, hoist limit switches, pressure relief, rupture prevention valves, and comprehensive safety interlocks. A 7-ton counterweight ensures optimal balance during operations.
With its compact travel dimensions, 6x6x6 drive with axle 1 additionally driven, and advanced electronics including CAN bus and Liebherr system integration, the LTM 1045-3.1 excels in both urban and rugged environments, making it an ideal choice for construction, infrastructure, and industrial lifting jobs.
