Product Description
The Liebherr LTM 1250-6.1 represents a high-performance solution in the 250-ton all-terrain class. Its robust structural design includes a box-type, torsion-resistant frame made of high-tensile fine-grain steel. This chassis integrates four hydraulically extendable sliding beams equipped with hydraulic jacks and supporting pads, ensuring stability even under challenging terrain conditions. The supporting base spans 8.8 meters longitudinally and 8.5 meters transversely, making it suitable for a variety of lifting applications.
Powered by an 8-cylinder Liebherr D9508 A7 diesel engine, the carrier develops 450 kW (612 HP) at 1900 rpm with a peak torque of 2840 Nm. Emissions are compliant with EPA/CARB Tier 3 and European standards. The automatic ZF TC-TRONIC transmission with 12 forward and two reverse gears ensures smooth and efficient power transfer. The six axles—all driven and suspended—enhance off-road capability, with five axles steered and advanced transverse differential locks for superior maneuverability.
Suspension is managed by Liebherr’s hydropneumatic system with automatic levelling, which balances load pairs across the axle groups and can be hydraulically locked for stability during lifting operations. Braking is handled by an all-wheel servo-air brake system with additional exhaust brakes and TELMA-type eddy current retarders for the fourth axle.
The crane superstructure is driven by a Liebherr 4-cylinder D934L A6 engine producing 180 kW (245 HP), powering a diesel-hydraulic system with axial piston pumps. The boom system consists of one base section and five telescoping sections, extending from 15.4 to 72 meters using Liebherr’s TELEMATIK rapid-cycle telescoping system. The crane can be equipped with a 12.2-meter single folding jib or a 20-meter double jib, and hydraulic adjustment is available for luffing angles between 0° to 45°.
The LICCON crane control system integrates user-friendly joystick levers for all major crane functions, providing precise control and advanced diagnostics. Safety is enhanced by systems such as overload protection, hoist limit switches, pipe rupture valves, and electronic monitoring of critical operating conditions.
The LTM 1250-6.1 offers a combination of power, agility, and operational safety, making it well-suited for infrastructure development, industrial installation, and heavy-duty construction jobs. With modern data bus systems and enhanced driver and crane operator cabs, it ensures long-term reliability and operator comfort under continuous operation.
