Product Description

The Sumitomo SA800 is a mid-sized all-terrain crane engineered to deliver efficient lifting performance in constrained and variable jobsite conditions. Rated at 80 tonnes maximum lifting capacity, the SA800 features a five-section telescopic main boom extending from 10.2 meters to a maximum of 45.1 meters. This boom is constructed from high-tensile steel in a box-type design, enabling reliable performance during structural or industrial lifting tasks.

To enhance its reach and flexibility, the crane supports a range of jib options, including a single top jib (7.5 m) and tilt jibs that range from 7.5 m to 13.5 m, capable of tilting up to 45° to accommodate challenging geometries and higher working heights. The maximum lifting height with jib combinations reaches up to 56.5 meters, and the maximum working radius extends to 44.5 meters (with main boom only).

The crane’s upper works are driven by a Hino H07CT engine producing 180 ps at 2,100 rpm and 67 kg·m of torque at 1,600 rpm, powering the hydraulic system responsible for hoisting, luffing, and slewing operations. Main and auxiliary winches are powered by hydraulic axial piston motors with integrated planetary gear reducers, each supporting high-speed lifting with controlled precision. Boom extension and retraction is hydraulically actuated, offering a wide operating boom angle range from -1.5° to 80°.

Mounted on a 4-axle carrier with an 8×4 drivetrain configuration, the SA800 is driven by a powerful Mitsubishi 6D22-T engine rated at 354 ps and 163 kg·m torque at 1,400 rpm. The carrier is built on the FM530 chassis and includes hydropneumatic suspension with automatic leveling and differential lock. All axles are equipped with 16.00 R25 tires and dual-circuit service brakes with a spring-actuated parking brake system. This robust platform provides excellent road speed (up to 68 km/h), a climbing gradient of 30%, and a minimum turning radius of 10.2 meters.

Stability is reinforced by four hydraulically operated outriggers with a maximum span of 6.0 meters and the option for float pads to further distribute ground load. The SA800 also includes a full-featured operator’s cab with Sumitomo’s load moment limiter, ergonomic controls, climate management, and safety systems like anti-two-block, over-hoist prevention, and load monitoring.

Compact yet capable, the Sumitomo SA800 combines transportability, lifting strength, and jobsite flexibility, making it an ideal machine for bridge construction, structural steel assembly, and general urban lifting applications.
