Product Description
The Tadano ATF 60-4 is a well-balanced 60-ton all terrain crane that embodies Tadano’s reputation for dependable lifting machinery. This model is designed to meet the performance and regulatory demands of multiple markets, providing excellent off-road capability and on-road drivability. It features an 8×4 drive configuration and is powered by a Mercedes-Benz 6-cylinder OM 501 LA diesel engine producing 260 kW (354 HP) at 1800 rpm and 1730 Nm of torque at 1080 rpm. The drivetrain is equipped with a ZF AS-Tronic 12AS2302 mechanical transmission with 12 forward and 2 reverse gears, ensuring smooth and efficient shifting through electro-pneumatic actuation.
Riding on four axles, the ATF 60-4 has all-wheel steering and a hydro-pneumatic suspension system with leveling adjustment, making it highly maneuverable on both job sites and public roads. The steering system incorporates the ZF Servocom dual circuit hydraulic setup and includes mechanical and emergency steering pumps. A full ABS braking system ensures safety, complemented by an engine exhaust brake and constant throttle engine brake system.
At the heart of its lifting performance is a five-section boom constructed from high-tensile steel, with a maximum length of 40.2 meters. The boom telescopes using a single cylinder under load, delivering efficient reach and reliable performance. The derricking system features a single hydraulic cylinder with an integral brake, while the slewing system utilizes a dual-stage planetary reducer for smooth and controlled rotation at up to 2 rpm.
The ATF 60-4’s superstructure is powered by a 4-cylinder Mercedes-Benz OM 904 LA engine producing 90 kW (122 HP), which operates a three-circuit hydraulic system with adjustable pumps and gear pump support. Crane operation is managed with dual joystick levers for intuitive and simultaneous control of functions. The hoist system includes a constant displacement axial piston motor and integrated planetary gear with hydraulic load-holding features. The drum is equipped with a free-rotation function and “Superstop” reeving system.
Inside the operator’s cab, a comfortable, panoramic all-steel structure includes tinted glass, heating, air conditioning, and adjustable seating with independent hot-water heating. The control panel includes comprehensive crane instrumentation for safe and efficient operations. A wide range of safety features are standard, including a load moment device (LMD), limit switches, and safety valves.
Optional equipment includes telescopic boom extensions from 9.0 m to 16.0 m (with up to 45° offset), counterweights, auxiliary winches, and winter packages such as engine pre-heaters and heated seating. With its blend of mobility, power, and operator-friendly features, the Tadano ATF 60-4 remains a versatile and efficient solution for a broad range of lifting applications.
