Product Description
The Tadano ATF 80-4 debuted as a versatile 80-ton capacity all-terrain crane, built to bridge the gap between city-friendly mobility and demanding jobsite lifting. Its core lifting system features a six-part telescopic boom that spans from 10.8 meters to 48.5 meters, fabricated from high-strength fine-grain steel. It can be configured with boom extensions of 9.0 or 16.0 meters, which can be offset at 5°, 20°, or 40°, pushing the total boom length to a maximum of 64.5 meters, making it ideal for tall structural placements.
The crane’s slewing system offers a 360° continuous rotation powered by an axial piston motor through a dual-stage planetary gear system, delivering a smooth swing action with a variable slewing speed of 0 to 2 rpm. Hoisting operations are managed by an axial piston motor-driven drum, equipped with a spring-loaded multi-disc brake and integrated free rotation control, allowing lifting speeds of up to 112 m/min and a maximum single line pull of 68 kN using an 18 mm hoist rope.
Mounted on a four-axle all-wheel-steer chassis with an 8×6 drive configuration (optional 8×8), the ATF 80-4 offers impressive travel agility. The first, third, and fourth axles are driven and steered, with the second axle steered but non-driven. Differential locks on the transverse and longitudinal axis provide exceptional traction on rough terrain. The crane rides on hydro-pneumatic suspension and 16.00 R25 tires as standard, with alternative options like 14.00 R25 or 20.5 R25.
Powering the carrier is a Mercedes-Benz OM 501 LA six-cylinder diesel engine delivering 315 kW (428 HP) and 2000 Nm of torque, coupled with a ZF AS-Tronic 12-speed automatic transmission. The superstructure is independently powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 904 LA engine (130 kW / 177 HP), ensuring efficient crane operation even during engine downtime.
Safety features include load moment limiters, hoist and drum limit switches, rupture-safe hydraulic circuit designs, and optional extras like an auxiliary winch, air conditioning, and eddy current brake. The outrigger base spans 7.2 meters x 8.59 meters, offering excellent stability during high-reach lifts.
The Tadano ATF 80-4 stands out for its advanced hydraulic system, operator-friendly panoramic cab, and solid lifting capacity that supports a wide range of applications from construction to industrial installation.
