Kobelco BMS1000

The Kobelco BMS1000 is designed as a 100-ton class lattice boom crawler crane, built for flexibility and robust performance on demanding sites. It features a boom length ranging from 13.8 meters to 62.6 meters, using high-tensile steel lattice construction with pin-connected sections. Its main winch offers a maximum line speed of 110 m/min with a single-line rated pull of 132 kN, providing strong and smooth hoisting capability. The standard wire rope diameter is 28 mm, with rope lengths of 175 meters for the main and 130 meters for the auxiliary hoist.

Powered by a Hino P11C-VH six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine producing 271 kW at 1,850 rpm, the BMS1000 is equipped with a large 400-liter fuel tank, ensuring long operational periods between refueling. The hydraulic system uses three variable displacement piston pumps and includes an oil-to-air heat exchanger for efficient cooling. The system operates at a maximum pressure of 31.9 MPa, delivering 27.5 MPa for load, hoist, and propel systems, and 5.4 MPa for control.

The crawler undercarriage is equipped with independently driven hydraulic motors through planetary reducers, allowing 360° swing capability and providing both skid and counter-rotation steering. Track rollers are sealed for maintenance-free operation, and each crawler track can extend hydraulically for stable wide-track operation or retract for transport. The crane’s maximum gradeability is 30%, while travel speeds range from 1.4 to 1.0 km/h depending on conditions.

For safety and operator comfort, the BMS1000 comes with a fully enclosed cab fitted with safety glass, air conditioning, adjustable high-backed seat, footrest, roof blind, and additional ergonomic features. The cab is equipped with displays and controls for precise monitoring of load moment, boom angle, boom length, and operational parameters.

Weighing 107 tons in operating condition — including 37.1 tons of counterweight and 14.5 tons of carbody weight — the crane maintains low ground pressure of 108.8 kPa, helping to minimize site impact and ensure stability.
