Product Description
The Link-Belt HTC-35 is a truck-mounted hydraulic crane built for general construction and utility lifting, combining road mobility with reliable on-site performance. Designed on an 8×4 drive FMC carrier with a 228″ (5.79 m) wheelbase and 8’0″ (2.44 m) width, the crane integrates an all-welded steel frame structure with integral outrigger boxes and double box-section construction for enhanced strength and rigidity.
The crane is equipped with a fabricated, box-type three-section boom with two double-acting hydraulic telescoping cylinders. The boom extends from 28′ (8.53 m) to a maximum of 80′ (24.38 m) and is constructed with high-strength steel side plates featuring diamond-shaped impressions to increase lateral stiffness. Boom speeds range from 70° in 18.4 seconds to full boom extension in 65 seconds. Boom operation is aided by two boomhoist cylinders and an onboard boom length indicator that relays data to the operator’s cab.
To expand its working range, the HTC-35 can be configured with a two-piece 28′ (8.53 m) fly jib consisting of a 5′ (1.52 m) folding adaptor and a 23′ (7.01 m) lattice tip section. An optional 50′ (15.24 m) jib adds additional reach and flexibility. The folding assembly can be stowed in-line or offset at 7.5°, providing up to 135′ (41.15 m) tip height when combined with the main boom.
Powering the crane is a choice of diesel engines: the GM 6V53, a 6-cylinder 2-stroke with a displacement of 318 cu in (5.212 L) producing 216 hp and 446 ft-lbs of torque at 2,800 rpm, or the Cummins VT-555, an 8-cylinder 4-stroke rated at 218 hp and 445 ft-lbs of torque at 2,800 rpm. The transmission is an Eaton Roadranger RT613, offering 13 forward speeds and 3 reverse, supported by a 60-gallon (227.1 L) fuel tank.
The hydraulic system features a triple gear-type main pump delivering 73 g.p.m. (276.31 L/min) at 2,800 rpm, powering wire rope hoists, swing, outriggers, boom functions, and counterweight systems. The boomhoist and winch system includes dual-speed operation through FMC’s proprietary Speed-o-Matic clutch system, allowing precise feathering and optional free fall. The hoist system is designed for 5/8″ (15.88 mm) Type “N” wire rope with a maximum permissible line pull of 16,800 lbs (7,620 kg) and line speeds up to 479 f.p.m. (145.39 m/min).
The swing system offers 360° continuous rotation at 2.5 rpm via a hydraulic planetary reducer and integral swing bearing. Counterweights include 6,700 lbs (3,039 kg) standard or up to 7,100 lbs (3,221 kg) with auxiliary winch. Outriggers are hydraulically operated with dual-stage telescoping beams that extend to an 8’0″ (2.44 m) stance.
The operator’s cab is offset for better visibility and includes standard insulation, full instrumentation, adjustable seat, and large glass panels with safety glazing. The carrier cab is a one-man profile with acoustic insulation and heating, complete with rearview mirrors, backup alarms, and electric windshield wipers.
Overall, the Link-Belt HTC-35 stands out as a well-rounded mobile crane, ideal for mid-range lifting operations, offering reliability, straightforward operation, and a strong balance of reach and capacity within its 35-ton class.
