Product Description
The Link-Belt HTC-830 debuted as a highly versatile 30-ton (27.2 metric ton) class truck crane, offering excellent lifting performance with reliable mobility on and off the job site. The crane’s primary boom is a four-section design ranging from 32 feet to 101 feet (9.75 m to 30.78 m), featuring Link-Belt’s patented rectangular box construction with high-tensile steel and diamond-shaped impressions to enhance strength-to-weight ratio. It includes a hydraulic boom head and optional auxiliary sheave for handling multiple reeving scenarios, along with a 29-foot (8.84 m) stowable fly and a 21-foot (6.40 m) optional jib for additional reach. Boom elevation ranges from -3° to 80° and is powered by a hydraulic cylinder with holding valves.
The crane superstructure houses a dual-cylinder, swing-out cab with environmental insulation and a six-way adjustable seat, offering excellent visibility through tinted, safety-glass windows. Operators control boom extension, swing, hoist, and travel functions via six separate control valves, while a hydraulic swing motor and planetary reducer enable smooth 360° continuous rotation at 2.05 rpm. The load hoist system includes a Model 2M main winch and optional 3M or 3L winch, delivering maximum line speed up to 414 fpm (129.19 m/min) and line pulls of 11,700 lbs (5,307 kg).
The hydraulic system consists of a three-section gear-type pump driven by the carrier engine, with a maximum pressure of 2,900 psi (200 bar), and is supported by a 110-gallon (416 L) reservoir and six-micron filtration. Carrier features include an 8-foot-wide frame built from high-strength alloy steel with integral outrigger boxes and a wheelbase of 216 inches (5.49 m). The outrigger system comprises four hydraulic double box beams with 19-inch square floats and integral holding valves, extending to an 18-foot (5.49 m) stance.
The HTC-830’s powertrain includes a standard Fuller Roadranger RT-6613 manual transmission with 13 forward and 3 reverse gears, mated to a diesel engine and optionally available with an Allison MT-653DR 5-speed automatic transmission. The chassis offers 6×4 drive standard with 6×6 as an option and uses cast six-spoke wheels with various tire configurations including 16.5 x 22.5 tubeless or lug type radials. Steering is Sheppard rack-and-pinion with a 50-foot (15.42 m) turning radius, aided optionally by remote control systems.
Designed for both comfort and functionality, the cab includes a full acoustic liner, dual-headlights, cab heater, wipers, and instrument panels for monitoring all major functions. With a high standard of optional equipment such as diesel heaters, drum rotation indicators, and lighting packages, the Link-Belt HTC-830 remains a durable and flexible solution in the 30-ton truck crane class.
