Product Description

The Link-Belt HTC-835XL truck crane is designed for performance, durability, and versatility, particularly in mid-range lifting operations. Its boom configuration features a four-section, full-power boom extending from 35 feet to 110 feet (10.67 m – 33.53 m). Each section is constructed from high-strength steel with diamond-shaped side plates and precisely machined chords rated at 100,000 psi (689.5 MPa), ensuring optimal strength-to-weight ratio. Boom elevation is managed by Link-Belt’s dual-acting hydraulic cylinders, delivering elevation angles from -3° to 78°. Auxiliary lifting capabilities are provided via a 16 3/8-inch (0.42 m) optional auxiliary sheave, which accommodates two parts of line.

The swing system is driven by a bi-directional hydraulic motor and two-stage planetary reducer, delivering continuous 360° swing at a rate of 2.45 rpm. Braking is handled by a spring-released disc mounted on the reducer. The main hoist is powered by a Model 2M winch with a two-speed motor, offering bi-directional power-up/down operation and automatic brake control. The optional auxiliary hoist uses a similar setup, while a Model 3M winch provides gravity freefall capability. Line pull is rated at 15,870 lbs (7,199 kg) and the line speed reaches up to 548 fpm (167.03 m/min) on 17-inch (0.43 m) drums.

The crane’s hydraulic system is driven by a three-section gear-type main pump with a combined flow of 185 gpm (700 lpm), powered by a carrier engine. The operating pressure is rated at 2,900 psi (204 kg/cm²), and the system includes a 145-gallon (548.83 L) reservoir with diffuser for deaeration. The crane’s environmental cab features ergonomic controls, tempered safety glass, and a dash with temperature, oil, and fuel gauges. Optional features include a 25-foot (7.62 m) stowable jib, fly extension, and full auxiliary hoisting capability.

The HTC-835XL is built on a rugged 8×4 drive carrier with a welded box-type steel frame. The 8-foot (2.44 m) wide frame accommodates a 228-inch (5.79 m) wheelbase. Front and rear axles offer tandem configurations with track widths of 83.31 inches (2.12 m) and 71.8 inches (1.82 m) respectively, using solid mount and spring suspensions. Full air brakes with emergency systems are fitted, and the carrier includes a one-man insulated cab with full instrumentation and climate control. Tires include standard 15.0 x 22.5 (front) and 11.0 x 20.0 (rear), with optional radials available.

Transmission is via a Fuller Roadranger RTO-6613, with 13 forward and 3 reverse speeds. The carrier also features parking/emergency brake systems, front/rear lights, mud flaps, rear deck access, and standard or optional towing and starting accessories.
