Tadano TG-500E

Debuting as a refined evolution of Tadano’s robust truck-mounted crane lineup, the TG-500E is a 50-ton capacity crane designed for demanding operations across various jobsite conditions. It features a fully telescopic four-section hexagonal boom that extends from 10.65 meters to 40.0 meters, offering excellent flexural and torsional rigidity. This design supports both strength and lightweight operation, enhancing performance in confined and irregular work zones.

To extend its lifting reach, the TG-500E is equipped with a two-stage under-slung jib that can be offset at 5°, 25°, or 45°, offering a maximum lifting height of up to 54.0 meters and a maximum working radius of approximately 42.0 meters. An auxiliary boom sheave (single top) is also available for efficient single-line lifting.

At the heart of the TG-500E is a powerful 250 kW (340 PS) engine, which drives a transmission system providing smooth travel across 7 forward and 2 reverse gears. The truck’s drivetrain is designed to deliver optimal traction and climbing performance on rough terrains while maintaining road mobility with speeds up to 70 km/h.

Safety is a central focus, with the inclusion of Tadano’s Automatic Moment Limiter (AML) system, which continuously monitors and displays essential load information including load moment, boom length, working radius, and hook load. Audible and visual alarms alert operators when safe limits are approached. The AML system also integrates a work area limiting function, preventing dangerous movements and increasing on-site efficiency.

To enhance operator ease, the TG-500E includes ergonomic single-lever controls, ISO-standardized operation levers, and a wide panoramic cab with large tinted windows. Features such as reclining seats, rear-view mirrors, an optional AM/FM radio, and optional air conditioning improve driver comfort over long shifts. The carrier cab is optimized for visibility and usability with a tilting/telescoping steering wheel and wide instrument layout.

Additional features include adjustable hydraulic outriggers with a maximum extension width of 6.8 meters, twin swing systems with power control or free swing modes, and advanced crane safety mechanisms such as winch drum rotation indicators, front jack overload warning, and cable follower systems. An oil cooler is also installed to prevent overheating during prolonged lifting operations.
