Grove RT745

The Grove RT745 is equipped with a trapezoidal, three-section full-power telescopic boom offering lengths from 33 to 80 feet (10.1 m – 24.4 m), with optional extensions that stretch to 104 ft (31.7 m) and swingaway lattice booms that can bring the tip height up to an impressive 165 ft (50.3 m). A-frame swingaway jib sections and offsettable jib designs enhance operational flexibility, allowing boom angles from -4° to 76° and jib angles between 0° to 30°, depending on configuration.

At its core, the RT745 features a robust Detroit Diesel 8.2L turbocharged engine delivering 198 bhp (149 kW), with optional Cummins or CAT powerplants up to 195 bhp. These power units support a 4×4 drivetrain with fully independent front and rear steering, allowing multiple steering modes: front-only, rear-only, crab, and coordinated for tight turning radii. The crane is rated for speeds up to 32.0 mph (51.5 km/h) and a gradeability of 128%, depending on configuration.

The hydraulic system consists of four main gear pumps with a total capacity of 146 GPM (553 LPM), delivering power to the hoisting, swinging, and boom control systems. The main and auxiliary hoists feature planetary gearboxes with multi-disc brakes and dual-speed capability. The Grove HO30B-16 hoist offers single line pulls up to 12,920 lbs (5,860 kg), with rope storage up to 500 ft (152.4 m) for extended lifting heights.

With safety systems like standard load moment and anti-two block devices, full cab instrumentation, backup alarms, and outriggers with telescoping beam and jack cylinders, the RT745 is well-equipped for both operator comfort and operational safety. The operator cab includes acoustic insulation, heating, and ventilation, and full instrumentation for precision control.

The crane also incorporates steel fenders, work lights, and a full lighting package, along with an array of optional features including auxiliary hoists, cold weather start kits, and additional lighting or mirrors.
