Grove RT760
The Grove RT760 is a 60-ton rough terrain crane outfitted with a powerful four-section boom extending to 110 feet (33.5 meters) and an optional lattice extension providing a tip height of up to 170 feet. With a Cummins turbocharged diesel engine, advanced hydraulic system, and robust off-road chassis, the RT760 is ideal for lifting operations in demanding environments.

Product Description
The Grove RT760 delivers robust performance and versatility in a 60-ton (54.4 metric ton) rough terrain class. The crane’s main boom is a four-section telescopic design, extending from 35 to 110 feet (10.7 to 33.5 meters). This boom includes two full-power sections and one power-pinned section for smooth and secure extension, supported by double-acting hydraulic cylinders with integral holding valves. The boom elevation ranges from -4° to 76°, ensuring flexibility for both near and far lifting operations.
For extended reach, the RT760 supports a swingaway lattice extension of 32 to 56 feet (9.8 to 17.1 meters), offsettable at 0°, 15°, or 30°, which increases the maximum tip height to an impressive 170 feet (51.8 meters). The boom head features five sheaves on heavy-duty tapered roller bearings and removable pin-type rope guards.
Hoisting is handled by main and auxiliary winches, both with planetary reduction, automatic multi-disc brakes, and line pull capacities of up to 18,560 lbs (8,419 kg) with line speeds reaching 162 m/min. The rope diameter is 3/4″ (19 mm), and the main winch can stow up to 1,170 ft (357 meters) of rope.
Power comes from a Cummins 6BTA 5.9L turbocharged diesel engine, delivering 200 bhp (149 kW) at 2,500 rpm and a torque of 814 Nm. The crane uses a full powershift transmission with six forward and six reverse speeds, enabling a top speed of 32.7 km/h. The 4×4 drivetrain includes independent power steering and four steering modes—front only, rear only, crab, and coordinated—making it highly maneuverable with a tight turning radius of 7.1 meters.
The outrigger system includes four hydraulically operated, telescoping double box-beam outriggers with integral holding valves and 24-inch floats. These can be positioned at three extension levels, and the maximum pad load is 85,880 lbs (39,036 kg). The crane chassis is fabricated from high-strength low-alloy steel, providing both durability and stability.
The operator’s cab is constructed of all-steel, full-vision design with tinted glass, full craning controls, a propane heater, a circulating fan, and optional air conditioning. The swing system offers 360° continuous rotation at 2.6 rpm via a planetary glide mechanism, supported by a mechanical swing lock and hydraulic release brake.
Safety features include Grove’s standard load moment and anti-two block system with audible and visual warnings, control lever lockout, and full electronic monitoring of boom angle, radius, and tip height.
Overall, the Grove RT760 is a highly capable and field-proven crane designed for versatile applications in construction, energy, and industrial sectors, excelling in rough terrain and complex lifting scenarios.
