Kobelco RK700 (Panther 700)
The Kobelco RK700 is a 70-ton class rough terrain crane engineered with compact maneuverability and robust lifting capability, making it a preferred choice for heavy-duty applications in confined urban environments. Its hydraulic systems, advanced safety features, and multifunctional steering modes enable exceptional versatility both on and off the road.

Product Description
Launched as part of Kobelco’s city-conscious crane lineup, the RK700 rough terrain crane delivers a maximum lifting capacity of 70 metric tons at a 2.3-meter radius. The crane features a fully hydraulic seven-stage box-type boom extending from 9.5 meters to 48.0 meters, supported by a hydraulic telescopic system that enables swift and flexible boom operations. An auxiliary jib ranging from 7.8 to 12.0 meters provides a maximum lifting height of 61.3 meters and an operating radius of up to 37.0 meters when combined with the main boom.
The RK700 is driven by a powerful HINO E13C diesel engine, a turbo-intercooled inline 6-cylinder unit with a total displacement of 12.913 liters. It delivers 448 horsepower at 1800 rpm and 197 kgf·m of torque at 1300 rpm. The carrier utilizes an 8×6 wheel configuration supported by a hydro-pneumatic floating suspension system. High maneuverability is ensured through hydraulic power steering and multiple steering modes, including normal, cramp (eight-wheel), crab, and rear steering. The minimum turning radius is 7.19 meters.
The crane’s winding system comprises two independently driven winches utilizing hydraulic motors with planetary gear systems, capable of 187/122 m/min and 106 m/min speeds respectively, with a maximum rope length of 257 meters. The outrigger system provides seven extension levels with a maximum spread of 7.6 meters, ensuring stable lifting across all boom lengths. The crane’s slew radius is 3,600 mm and slewing speed reaches 1.9 rpm.
Safety remains paramount on the RK700, with integrated overload prevention, slew and over-winding limiters, boom and jib motion interlocks, and multiple visual and audible warning systems. The cab is outfitted with display monitors and cameras for operational awareness, complemented by devices like a hydraulic brake, engine exhaust brake, and a pneumatic hydraulic compound braking system for control during transport.
Tires are sized at 325/95 R24 and paired with a 300-liter fuel tank to support long-duty operations. The RK700 combines lifting power, structural stability, and high transport performance, making it an adaptable and reliable crane suited for diverse lifting tasks across construction, infrastructure, and industrial applications.
