Product Description
In March 2017, at the Conexpo construction machinery trade show in Las Vegas, Liebherr expanded its mobile crane lineup by unveiling a new series of rough terrain cranes: the LRT 1090-2.1 (90 tonnes / 100 USt) and the LRT 1100-2.1 (100 tonnes / 110 USt). The LRT 1090-2.1 was designed specifically for challenging off-road conditions, combining robust performance with Liebherr’s advanced technology to deliver safety, efficiency, and reliability on demanding job sites.
The LRT 1090-2.1 features a maximum lifting capacity of 90 tonnes and a telescopic boom extending from 12 to 47 meters. The boom’s hydro-mechanical telescoping system uses rope pull technology, allowing the boom sections to extend and retract quickly and easily under partial load, minimizing setup time and enhancing operational efficiency. The optional double swing-away jib measures between 10.5 and 19 meters and can be offset hydraulically at 0°, 20°, and 40°, extending the maximum system length to 66 meters.
Designed for maximum maneuverability, the LRT 1090-2.1 is built on a 2-axle carrier chassis with four-wheel steering and four-wheel drive. It delivers excellent off-road handling thanks to its large 29.5 R 25 tires and high ground clearance. Its extra-wide cab offers improved visibility, an ergonomic control layout, a 20° rear tilt function, and full climate control. The LICCON2 control system integrates load moment limitation, operational monitoring, diagnostics, and remote monitoring capabilities.
A key highlight of the LRT 1090-2.1 is the standard VarioBase® outrigger system, which automatically adjusts load charts to the crane’s outrigger positions in real time. This system not only maximizes lifting capacity, especially in confined or asymmetric outrigger setups, but also significantly enhances safety and stability.
With its combination of Liebherr’s proven engineering, advanced safety technologies, and rugged build, the LRT 1090-2.1 offers dependable performance in rough terrain conditions, making it ideal for infrastructure, industrial, and construction projects where flexibility, speed, and safety are critical.
