Product Description
The Sany SRC840 is a compact and powerful 40-ton rough terrain crane tailored for lifting operations in constrained or uneven environments. Its main boom is a four-section, synchronized full-power telescopic type extending from 32.8 feet to 103.4 feet, offering broad reach and flexibility. The crane also includes a bifold boom extension ranging from 26 to 45 feet with offset angles of 0°, 15°, and 30°, pushing the maximum tip height to an impressive 155.5 feet.
At the heart of the SRC840 is a Cummins QSB6.7 Tier 3 diesel engine delivering 160 HP at 2,500 rpm. This engine powers a Parker piston hydraulic pump system paired with Husco post-compensated valves, enabling precise load handling and multi-function operation. Braden winches provide a line pull of up to 15,000 lbs and maximum line speed of 460 ft/min with a 5/8-inch rope diameter. Each winch drum holds up to 770 feet of wire rope.
The crane is supported by a fixed 8,818 lb counterweight for stability and rides on heavy-duty 20.5×25 earthmover-style tires, granting excellent flotation on off-road terrain. Its Dana powershift transmission provides six speeds in both forward and reverse, allowing a maximum road speed of 25 mph. AxleTech steer-drive axles, hydraulic disk brakes, and four-way hydraulic steering enhance maneuverability and braking performance.
With a total machine weight of approximately 71,209 lbs, the SRC840 maintains a compact footprint—measuring just under 40 feet in length and 8 ft 7.5 in in width—making it suitable for restricted sites. Its three-position outriggers provide a leveling spread of up to 20.2 feet and penetrate the ground by 10 inches, ensuring firm stability on uneven terrain.
Operator comfort is central to the crane’s design. The cab features all-steel construction, sound insulation, a six-way adjustable seat with mechanical suspension, and extensive visibility through tinted safety glass, skylight, and sliding windows. Controls include hydraulic pilot joysticks with built-in drum indicators, integrated LML (Load Moment Limiter), CAN-bus diagnostics, and swing brakes.
Safety systems are robust: anti-two-block, hoist drum rotation indicators, load holding valves, outrigger position sensors, boom angle and length indicators, swing lock, and a function cut-out system are standard. These safety layers are supported by internal diagnostics and alarms for system integrity.
Designed for lifting reliability and operator ease, the Sany SRC840 excels in applications such as utility maintenance, plant operations, and general construction where flexibility, reach, and safety are critical.
