Tadano TR160M-3

The TR-160M-3 is designed for compact lifting operations with a maximum lifting capacity of 16 tons at 3.0 meters. The crane’s 6-section telescopic boom ranges from 6.5 to 27.5 meters, with a 3.5-meter jib that enables a maximum lifting height of 31.2 meters. The jib features 3 offset angles—5°, 25°, and 45°—for flexible overhead work.

It has fast boom operation with a full extension of 21 meters achieved in just 87 seconds. Boom elevation is from -2° to 82°, completed in 35 seconds. The slewing system enables 360° continuous rotation at a rate of 2.6 rpm, controlled by a hydraulic motor and planetary reducer with free-lock selection.

Winch speeds are high: the main winch achieves up to 110 m/min, while the auxiliary reaches 96 m/min. Wire rope specs include 14 mm diameter and 155 m length for the main hoist. Both winches come with automatic brakes and foot-operated free-fall systems.

Powering the TR-160M-3 is a Hino H07C-TF 6-cylinder turbo diesel engine producing 220 PS (162 kW) at 2,800 rpm and 657 Nm of torque at 1,600 rpm. The transmission is a power-shift type with 4 forward and 1 reverse gear (with Hi/Lo range), paired with selectable 4×2 or 4×4 drive. It has a maximum travel speed of 49 km/h and can climb grades up to 60% (tanθ 0.6).

Outriggers are H-type, hydraulically operated, with multiple spread widths ranging from 1.79 to 5.2 meters, allowing for flexible setup on constrained job sites. The crane’s overall dimensions are 8,520 mm in length, 2,200 mm in width, and 3,140 mm in height, with a total vehicle weight of 19,895 kg.

The TR-160M-3 is equipped with Tadano’s AML (Automatic Moment Limiter) system and other key safety features such as swing auto-stop, anti-two block, and hydraulic lockouts for boom, outrigger, and winch operations. Operator comfort is enhanced by a fully enclosed cab with air conditioning, an adjustable seat, and visual aids such as drum rotation indicators.

With its compact size, efficient hydraulics, and reliable drivetrain, the TR-160M-3 is ideal for small to mid-sized construction projects, especially in urban areas or sites with limited space.
