Product Description

The Terex RT 190 rough terrain crane is designed to offer both exceptional lifting capability and transport flexibility, making it a standout in the 90-ton (81.6 metric ton) class. It features a robust 4-section, full-power telescoping boom with a length of 38 feet to 124 feet 8 inches (11.6 to 38 meters), with seamless extension and retraction controlled via non-metallic sheaves and two non-metallic idler sheaves. For even greater reach, it accommodates a telescopic lattice extension and an optional lattice jib, extending the maximum tip height to 205 feet (62.5 meters).

The RT 190 is engineered for mobility and efficiency. Swingaway, tires, and counterweights can be removed, reducing its transport weight below 90,000 lbs (40,824 kg). A self-removable counterweight option is available, further enhancing logistical flexibility. The crane maintains strong performance with an 18,500 lb (8,392 kg) counterweight and an auxiliary boom point mounted at the boom tip.

Inside the all-weather, fully enclosed steel cab, operators benefit from full visibility, ergonomic seat suspension, and low-vibration controls. The console includes gauges for critical engine and hydraulic parameters and allows simultaneous function operation. Standard cab features include tinted safety windows, heater, air conditioning, tachometer, voltmeter, wipers, lighting, and engine monitoring systems. A hand throttle and electric drum indicators are provided for refined control.

The crane is powered by a hydraulically driven system using two tandem gear-type pumps with a flow rate of 145 gpm (547 lpm). The system is equipped with filtration units and pressure line return features for oil cleanliness. A 330-gallon (1,250-liter) hydraulic reservoir supports prolonged lifting tasks.

The winch system on the RT 190 is high-capacity and designed for performance. The main hoist drum holds 690 ft of 3/4 inch (19 mm) wire rope with a drum capacity of 554 ft and a line pull rating of 22,410 lbs (10,165 kg) at low speed. The 2080C main winch features two-speed planetary gearing with a bent axis piston motor, infinitely variable speed, and automatic braking. The auxiliary winch offers similar specs and is optional for enhanced flexibility. Additionally, a 1500 lb auxiliary winch is available with planetary gearing and drum indicators.

The crane’s swing unit allows 360-degree continuous rotation with a maximum speed of 1.5 rpm and incorporates a hydraulic-powered, spring-applied swing brake. For lifting configuration, the crane supports hook blocks with up to 8 sheaves and 8 parts of line, and a 15-ton ball for lighter lifts.

Chassis-wise, the RT 190 includes four hydraulic outriggers with “A” frame style for stability. The front axle is fixed, while the rear axle features planetary drive/steer with differential lock and full floating shaft suspension. Service braking is provided by dual circuits acting on all wheels, and spring-applied parking brakes secure the machine when idle.

The Terex RT 190 is a heavy-duty performer tailored for rugged terrain, combining long boom reach, high winch strength, and modular transport design—making it an ideal crane for infrastructure, industrial sites, and large-scale lifting projects in off-road conditions.
