Product Description

The Demag AC1600 is an exceptional truck-type carrier crane, offering remarkable specifications that underscore its capabilities and engineering excellence. It’s built on an 18 x 8 x 18 drive/steering system, ensuring robust maneuverability and control. The crane’s frame is constructed from high-grade, close-grain structural steel, featuring a central pot for outrigger fixing, which adds to its stability and strength.

The AC1600’s engine, a Daimler-Benz OM 443 LA water-cooled 10 cylinder diesel engine, delivers a potent 412 kW (560 hp), making it a powerhouse in its category. This is complemented by a ZF-transmatic transmission, ensuring smooth and efficient operation. All axles are sprung and steered, contributing to its superior handling, and it rides on 18 disk-type wheels with 10.0 – 25 rims, equipped with single 14.00 – 25 PR 22 tyres.

For steering, the crane employs a dual-circuit semibloc mechanical system with hydraulic booster, optimized for safety and precision. The braking system is in line with EC standards, offering reliable stopping power, and the cab provides a comfortable and ergonomic space for operators, featuring a rubber-mounted low-line three-man steel construction.

The superstructure boasts a second engine, a Daimler-Benz OM 447 A water-cooled 6-cylinder model, providing additional power for complex lifting operations. Its hydraulic system includes four variable-displacement axial-piston pumps with automatic power control for simultaneous operations. The AC1600 is equipped with two hoist mechanisms, each featuring a variable-displacement axial-piston hydraulic motor with integrated safety brakes.

Other notable features include a sophisticated control system for precise operation, a comfortable and tiltable operator’s cab, and a telescopic boom designed for high efficiency and safety. The crane also offers a comprehensive counterweight system and a range of safety devices to ensure secure operations under various conditions.

Optional equipment extends its capabilities further, including a Superlift attachment to increase lifting capacity, a fixed fly jib, a luffing fly jib for extended reach, additional counterweight options, and a heavy-duty attachment for specialized tasks.
