Demag AC 435J

The Demag AC 435J stands as a high-capacity 150-ton all terrain crane, purpose-built for challenging lifts while remaining adaptable to on-road transport and confined jobsite operations. It’s equipped with a powerful Mercedes-Benz OM442LA diesel engine delivering 447 PS at 2,100 rpm and 180 kg·m of torque at 1,100 rpm. The drivetrain configuration allows for 3-axle steering (selectable 2-, 4-, or 5-axle drive modes), combining roadworthiness with site maneuverability.

The main boom spans from 12.8 to 50 meters, comprising a robust telescopic structure capable of handling 160 tons at 2.8 meters radius. The system allows smooth boom extension and retraction, with full extension achieved in just over 110 seconds. Boom elevation ranges from -2° to 83°, at a rate of 60 seconds from minimum to maximum angle. The swing system provides continuous 360° rotation at a slewing speed of 2.0 rpm.

Jib configuration is flexible and extensive. The fixed jib options include 10, 12, or 17 meters, while the swingaway jib ranges from 12 to 30 meters. There is also a hydraulic fly jib from 9.4 to 23.4 meters with offsets of 0°, 20°, and 40°. Combined with the boom, the crane achieves a maximum working height of up to 83 meters with appropriate jib extensions.

The winch system includes dual hoists, each with high-speed (120 m/min) and low-speed (60 m/min) modes for efficient load handling. The wire rope specifications support up to 300 meters in length for hoist (1) and 260 meters for hoist (2), using 21 mm diameter ropes.

The chassis measures 12.84 meters in length and 3.06 meters wide, with a total traveling weight of approximately 29.71 tons. The crane features ZF automatic transmission with torque converter and multi-speed ranges (16.00 – 25PR tires), providing both smooth highway travel and on-site traction. With a top speed of 70 km/h and a minimum turning radius of 10.6 meters, the AC 435J balances reach, power, and mobility.

A key strength of the Demag AC 435J lies in its wide selection of lifting accessories and counterweight configurations. The hook block range includes 160t, 80t, 51t, 22t, and 7.2t options with corresponding sheave arrangements to suit different lifting applications.
