Product Description
The Liebherr LTM 1700NX is a cutting-edge 700-ton all terrain crane built to meet the rigorous demands of Japan’s domestic lifting sector. Designed with exceptional structural engineering, the crane is offered in two configurations: the T3 with a 54-meter main boom and the T5 boasting an 80-meter main boom. Both models share a common counterweight capacity of up to 175 tons and offer supplementary jibs up to 91 meters, delivering impressive reach with a maximum tip height of 168 meters in the T5 configuration.
Powering the carrier is a robust 8-cylinder Liebherr diesel engine generating 505 kW (686 HP) and 3068 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a ZF 12-speed TRAXON transmission system and 2 reverse gears, optimized with an eco mode function for fuel efficiency. The eight-axle configuration rolls on 385/95 R 25 tires and supports a climbing ability of approximately 23.7°, with a minimum turning radius of 12.7 meters, ensuring mobility in tight spaces and on uneven ground.
The crane’s hydraulic system ensures smooth and controlled operation of all lifting functions. Main and auxiliary winches deliver a line pull of 12.7 tons with rope lengths up to 800 meters. The jibs can be extended and elevated between -0.5° to 82°, and the boom telescoping process takes approximately 700 seconds in the T5 model.
Equipped with LICCON II, Liebherr’s advanced control system, the LTM 1700NX provides real-time feedback on operating data, counterweight status, boom positions, and hook load. Safety features such as load moment indicators, automatic cut-offs, and high-visibility digital displays enhance operational confidence. Technologies such as VarioBase and VarioBallast further optimize performance and stability by adapting the crane’s footprint and counterweight radius to specific jobsite conditions.
For comfort and practicality, the crane’s cab is fitted with ergonomic controls, climate systems, and a full range of monitoring displays. Additionally, the auto-assembly feature simplifies boom setup, reducing both rigging time and risk.
The LTM 1700NX is not only a technological powerhouse but also a model of efficiency and flexibility, engineered for high-rise, wind turbine, and heavy industrial applications in Japan’s demanding terrain and regulatory landscape.
