The Liebherr LTM 1100/1 is a 100-ton all-terrain crane, robustly designed to cater to a wide range of lifting requirements across varied terrains. At its core, the crane features a Liebherr-designed box-type frame, constructed from high-tensile structural steel which affords it immense strength and torsion resistance. Power is provided by an 8-cylinder water-cooled Daimler-Benz Diesel engine, OM 442 LA, which delivers 320 kW (435 hp) at 2100 rpm. This is complemented by an Allison automatic EC4 03 transmission with a type CLBT, torque converter, and hydrodynamic retarder that ensures smooth and efficient handling and maneuverability.

The crane carrier is fitted with heavy-duty axles where axles 1, 4, and 5 are equipped with planetary gears and lockable transverse differentials. Its advanced hydro-pneumatic suspension system automatically levels and provides load equalization between the axles, enhancing stability during operations. The crane superstructure is made from Liebherr’s high-tensile structural steel, featuring a separate Daimler-Benz Diesel engine, type OM 366 A, for the superstructure operations, delivering 121 kW (165 hp). The crane drive includes a diesel-powered axial-piston pump with automatic output control and a 280-liter fuel tank, ensuring extended operation capabilities.

Crane operations are controlled via dual lever controls with joystick integration, governed by Liebherr’s LICCON safety and control system. This system includes features such as load indicators, hoist limit switches, and safety valves against pipe ruptures, maximizing operational safety and efficiency. The telescopic boom of the crane extends up to 45 meters, comprising a base section and multiple independently extendable sections, offering considerable flexibility in operation. Additionally, the crane boasts a folding jib that can extend from 11.3 to 20 meters and can be mounted at angles of 0°, 15°, or 30° to enhance reach and adaptability.

Equipped with a comprehensive electrical system powered by two 24 V DC batteries, the Liebherr LTM 1100/1 is engineered for resilience and performance in challenging environments. Its construction and capabilities make it a highly valuable asset for intricate heavy lifting tasks, delivering reliability, power, and precision in all-terrain operations.
