Kato NK-1200-V

The Kato NK-1200-V is a high-capacity, fully hydraulic truck crane purpose-built for heavy industrial lifting. It features a five-section, fully telescopic main boom that extends from 13.6 meters to 50 meters. This boom structure is fabricated from high-tensile fine-grain steel, delivering both strength and reduced weight for efficient transport and deployment. For extended reach, the NK-1200-V supports multiple jib configurations, including a swing-away jib of 10–26 meters and a robust 24-meter heavy-duty jib, resulting in a maximum lifting height of 76 meters.

Its lifting performance includes a maximum rated load of 120 tons at a 3.5-meter radius, with various rated capacities depending on boom extension length and jib use. Boom hoisting is rapid, achieving full elevation (-2° to 83°) in about 80 seconds. Slewing is precise and steady, powered by a hydraulic planetary gear motor operating at 1.7 rpm.

The crane’s power comes from a Mitsubishi 8DC8T V8 turbocharged diesel engine, delivering 380 PS at 2,200 rpm and peak torque of 142 kg·m at 1,400 rpm. It is paired with a 16-speed manual transmission and driven by an 8×4 chassis layout. The carrier is the Mitsubishi P-K1500, featuring a robust structure and an overall length of 11,960 mm. The crane weighs approximately 35,450 kg.

Stability is ensured with a four-outrigger hydraulic system that extends to a full working base of 7,375 mm. The system provides excellent support during high-lift operations. Safety systems include the ACS (Automatic Crane Safety) load monitoring system, slewing and boom limiters, over-wind cut-outs, and hydraulic locks. The fuel tank holds 300 liters, enabling long-duration operations.

Other enhancements include five-mode rear axle steering with a tight turning radius of 8.49 meters, making it maneuverable on narrow urban or industrial job sites. The NK-1200-V also allows for various counterweight configurations—16 ton, 20 ton, or optional setups up to 40 tons depending on the lifting needs.
