Key Features & Benefits
The Kato NK250-v2 is a versatile and high-performance 25-ton truck crane designed for lifting operations that require both reach and reliability. Its hydraulic system is fully integrated, allowing smooth and simultaneous functions across hoisting, slewing, and boom operations. This model is equipped with a main boom that extends from 10.5 meters to 33.0 meters, and it features a fly jib with lengths between 8.7 meters and 14.5 meters, increasing the crane’s lifting flexibility and range. The maximum rated lifting capacity is 25 tonnes at a 3.5-meter radius.
The boom derricking angle spans from -3° to 80°, with a full boom derricking cycle completed in just 53 seconds. Slewing is continuous and smooth with a maximum speed of 2.6 rpm. The hoisting line speed is equally impressive, with the main winch capable of 110 meters per minute and the auxiliary winch 95 meters per minute. The hoisting hook speed for the main winch is 13.7 meters/min (12-part line) on the 4th layer, and the auxiliary hoist moves at 95.0 meters/min with a 1-part line on the 2nd layer.
Built on either a Mitsubishi W-KS303R or Nissan W-KG510SN 8×4 carrier, the NK250-v2 achieves a top road speed of 70 km/h. The Mitsubishi engine option uses a model 8DC8, an 8-cylinder water-cooled diesel with 275 PS at 2,200 rpm and a torque rating of 100 kg-m at 1,400 rpm. The Nissan variant employs an RE8 engine delivering 295 PS and 105 kg-m of torque. Both chassis offer a 200-liter fuel tank and a two-person cab.
The carrier’s wheelbase measures 6,400 mm (Mitsubishi) or 6,350 mm (Nissan), and the gross vehicle weight is about 28,350 kg, balanced across the front and rear axles. The tire configuration for both versions is 10.00-20-14PR on all axles. In terms of structure, the vehicle’s length is 12,480 mm with a width of 2,490 mm and an overall height of 3,400 mm.
Safety and performance are reinforced with the inclusion of KATO’s ACS MS-15A computer-based safety device. The hydraulic system includes a 420-liter oil reservoir supporting all crane motions. The wire ropes used on both the main and auxiliary winches are 16 mm in diameter, with lengths of 180 m and 105 m respectively.
The NK250-v2 is well-suited for mid-range lifting in infrastructure development, civil construction, and utility maintenance, combining mobility, lifting precision, and operator-friendly systems in a rugged truck crane platform.
