Product Description
The Kato NK-500B-v is a full-hydraulic 50-ton truck crane built for efficiency and adaptability in a wide range of lifting operations. At its core, the crane is equipped with a 4-section boom that extends from 10.9 meters to a maximum of 41.5 meters, allowing for precise control across varied lifting radii. A 2.9-meter jib extends the working range, with maximum lifting heights reaching up to 56.0 meters when combined with the offset jib attachment. The boom elevation spans from -2.5° to 83° and operates with a fast elevation cycle of 130 seconds, while slewing is managed via a hydraulic planetary gear reducer delivering a 2.0 rpm continuous swing.
The NK-500B-v offers flexible winch configurations, including a dual-winch setup. The main winch operates at speeds up to 19 m/min (3rd layer), while the auxiliary winch reaches 11 m/min (2nd layer). It uses IWRC 6xFi(29) non-rotating wire ropes: φ18 x 230 meters for the main hoist and φ18 x 120 meters for the auxiliary hoist. Hoisting mechanisms employ oil-motor drives with automatic brakes, and the boom telescope operates via synchronized hydraulic cylinders assisted by a cable system.
The carrier is built on a heavy-duty 6-axle platform with an 8×4 drive system, supporting high-speed travel and excellent road performance. Two carrier configurations are available:
- Mitsubishi Carrier (W-KS506S): Fitted with a 16.75-liter 8DC10 V8 engine producing 335 PS at 2200 rpm and 120 kg·m torque at 1300 rpm.
- Nissan Carrier (W-KG520TN): Uses a 16.99-liter RF8 V8 diesel engine outputting 340 PS at 2200 rpm and matching torque specs.
Other engine variants such as the 8DC11 (355 PS) and RGB (350 PS) offer improved emissions performance under Japan’s Nox regulations. The crane travels at speeds up to 70 km/h and handles gradients up to 38%. Dimensions include an overall length of 13,250 mm, width of 2,820 mm, and height of 3,500 mm, with a wheelbase spanning 6,650 mm. The vehicle’s total weight, depending on configuration, averages around 38,400 kg.
Supporting stable operations, the NK-500B-v features a hydraulic outrigger system with a maximum extended width of 7.5 meters and intermediate settings for confined job sites. The oil hydraulic system includes a 4-pump layout, high-efficiency gear pumps, and a reservoir capacity of 650 liters.
For operator safety and convenience, it comes with a KATO ACS (Automatic Control System) that manages overload protection, drum locks, safety interlocks, and moment limiters. The driver’s cab is fitted with dual seats, a sliding roof, and essential instruments including tachometers and engine monitors.
