The SANY STC350C5-1 was introduced as part of SANY’s modern truck crane range aimed at combining compact overall dimensions with competitive lifting performance. The crane was developed primarily for medium-duty lifting applications including commercial construction, bridge work, plant maintenance, and municipal projects where fast transfer between jobsites and good urban accessibility are important operational requirements.

The crane is mounted on a four-axle truck carrier with an 8×4 drive arrangement. Axles 3 and 4 are driven, while axles 1 and 2 provide steering functions. Differential locks are integrated into the drive axles to improve traction and off-road capability on rough terrain jobsites. The chassis was developed with a narrow overall width of only 2,650 mm, improving maneuverability on congested roads and restricted worksites.

Overall transport dimensions measure approximately 13,630 mm in length, 2,650 mm in width, and 3,700 mm in height. Total vehicle weight is approximately 39 tonnes without auxiliary counterweight. SANY emphasized the crane’s balanced axle load distribution and compact dimensions to improve highway travel and bridge compliance.

Power for the carrier is supplied by a Yuchai YCK09360-60 inline six-cylinder diesel engine compliant with China National VI emission regulations. The engine produces 265 kW at 1,900 rpm with maximum torque of 1,600 Nm between 1,100 and 1,450 rpm. The drivetrain is paired with a 9-speed manual transmission designed to provide both low-speed climbing ability and efficient highway travel.

The STC350C5-1 achieves a maximum road speed of 90 km/h with gradeability reaching 45%. The crane also features a minimum turning radius of less than 12 m, approach angle of 19°, and departure angle of 12.5°, allowing improved access to uneven and confined jobsites. Fuel consumption is rated at approximately 37 liters per 100 km under standard operating conditions.

The superstructure incorporates a five-section U-shaped telescopic boom fabricated from high-strength welded structural steel. The basic boom length measures 11.3 m and extends hydraulically to a maximum of 44 m. The boom employs a dual-cylinder rope-synchronized telescoping system intended to improve extension smoothness and structural rigidity during lifting operations. Maximum lifting height with the fully extended boom reaches approximately 44.5 m. When equipped with the dual-stage lattice jib, maximum lifting height increases to approximately 60.5 m.

The jib system is available in 9.2 m and 16 m configurations with offset angles of 0°, 15°, and 30°. This arrangement allows the crane to perform lifting work at elevated radii and in applications requiring obstacle clearance such as steel erection and industrial installation work.

Maximum rated lifting capacity is 35 tonnes with a maximum lifting moment of 1,600 kN·m on the basic boom and 930 kN·m on the fully extended main boom. The crane uses H-type outriggers with a support span of 7.46 m transversely and 6.05 m longitudinally. The outriggers are fabricated from fine-grain high-strength steel and incorporate hydraulic locking systems for operational safety.

Counterweight configuration consists of a fixed counterweight and auxiliary counterweight totaling 8.5 tonnes, arranged as 6 t plus 2.5 t sections. SANY also highlighted the crane’s optimized weight distribution and wide outrigger base to improve lifting stability during long-radius operations.

The hydraulic system utilizes a dual-pump intelligent flow distribution arrangement combined with load-sensing variable piston pumps. According to SANY, this system improves combined motion controllability by more than 50%, while reducing energy loss and improving micro-movement precision during lifting operations. Main and auxiliary winches both achieve maximum single-line rope speeds of 140 m/min using high-efficiency piston motors.

Full boom extension requires approximately 100 seconds while boom retraction takes approximately 120 seconds. Boom luffing time is approximately 50 seconds upward and 60 seconds downward. Maximum slewing speed reaches 2.5 rpm with integrated slewing buffering and free-swing technology to improve smoothness during starting and stopping operations.

The operator’s cab features a redesigned interior with panoramic skylight, ergonomic controls, adjustable seating, automatic climate control with six-direction air distribution, USB charging ports, storage compartments, and a 7-inch color display integrated with the crane monitoring system. The carrier cab similarly uses a fully enclosed steel structure with pneumatic suspension seating, HVAC system, and optional sleeper arrangement for long-distance travel comfort.

Safety systems include SANY’s intelligent load moment indicator with lifting accuracy within 3%, overload protection, over-hoist protection, over-release protection, anti-tipping protection, and automatic dangerous motion cut-off functions. The crane also incorporates fault self-diagnosis systems capable of monitoring electrical, hydraulic, engine, and transmission systems in real time to improve reliability and simplify maintenance procedures.
