Product Description
The Kato MR-250, model KRM-25H, represents a versatile 25-ton rough terrain crane purpose-built to perform heavy lifting in tight and demanding construction environments. With a boom length ranging from 5.4 meters to a maximum of 28.0 meters, the crane incorporates a five-section box-type telescoping boom that can extend quickly using a synchronized hydraulic system. An optional two-stage fly jib extends operational flexibility up to 8.2 meters, making the total maximum lifting height reach approximately 37.1 meters.
At its core, the MR-250 utilizes a powerful Mitsubishi 6M61-TLE2B turbocharged diesel engine producing 165 kW (225 PS) at 2,700 rpm and torque of 720 Nm at 1,300 rpm. This engine enables the crane to travel at speeds of up to 49 km/h and maintain strong lifting performance across a variety of job conditions.
The crane’s lifting capabilities are robust, with maximum rated loads of 25,000 kg at a 2.8-meter radius, and it can safely lift 3,000 kg even when the boom is extended to 28.0 meters. A maximum hook speed of 94 m/min and a winch rope capacity of 160 meters (main) and 80 meters (auxiliary) support efficient load handling operations. The swing mechanism offers a smooth 2.6 rpm rotation, ensuring precise positioning and excellent control.
The KRM-25H chassis includes full-time 4-wheel drive and 4-wheel steering, incorporating three steering modes: front, crab, and coordinated. This gives the crane a tight turning radius of just 5.0 meters (4-wheel mode), enabling it to navigate cramped sites with ease. Suspension consists of a hydro-pneumatic lockable system for front and rear axles, and heavy-duty drum brakes are used alongside hydraulic assist and parking brake functions for safety.
The spacious operator cabin is ergonomically designed with wide visibility, safety glazing, and comfort-enhancing features including air conditioning, adjustable suspension seat, and full instrumentation. The MR-250 also includes an advanced ACS load moment limiter, automatic leveling outriggers, and a side-swing bracket for fly jib stowage.
Weighing in at approximately 25,305 kg gross, with 12,280 kg distributed on the front axle and 13,025 kg on the rear, the Kato KRM-25H delivers a compact and robust solution for urban and industrial lifting projects requiring mobility, strength, and precision.
