Product Description

The Tadano GR-120N-1 and GR-120NL-1 rough terrain cranes deliver a maximum lifting capacity of 12 tons with an 8-part line on a 5.3-meter boom at a 2-meter radius. The 6-section telescopic boom hydraulically extends from 5.3 meters up to 23.8 meters, using double-acting cylinders with synchronized wire rope extension devices for smooth and rapid operation. Boom extension speed is 18.5 meters in approximately 52 seconds.

A jib system is available with 3.6-meter and 5.5-meter options, providing additional flexibility in lifting scenarios with offset angles between 5° and 45°. Maximum lifting height with boom is 24.5 meters and extends to 30 meters with the jib. The maximum working radius reaches 22.3 meters on the boom and 23.2 meters with the jib.

The GR-120N-1 series features high-speed main and auxiliary winches, with the main winch single-line winding speed at 124 m/min (5th layer), and the auxiliary winch at 105 m/min (3rd layer). Both hoists use spin-resistant wire rope, 11.2 mm in diameter, for added safety and reduced rope twisting during operations. The boom elevates between -3° and 82°, with elevation completed in 30 seconds. Slewing is continuous 360° rotation at 2.4 rpm, using hydraulic motor-driven planetary gear reduction with negative brakes.

The cranes are powered by a Mitsubishi 4M50-TLE2A turbocharged, water-cooled, 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 125 kW (170 PS) at 2,800 rpm and maximum torque of 451 Nm at 1,800 rpm. The transmission offers automatic and manual modes, providing three forward and one reverse speeds with high and low ranges. Operators can select between 2WD (4×2) and 4WD (4×4) for optimal travel performance on varied terrain.

For stability, the GR-120N-1 offers X-type or H-type hydraulic outriggers with independent operation, achieving a fully extended width of 4.7 meters and minimum width of 1.7 meters (X-type) or 1.64 meters (H-type). Outrigger extension widths are automatically detected and monitored by the AML (Automatic Moment Limiter) system for enhanced safety.

Other safety features include swing automatic stop device, elevation slowdown and stop functions, overwind cutout, working area control, free-fall interlock (for cranes equipped with free-fall winches), hook safety latch, hydraulic safety valves, and various counterbalance valves on boom elevation, swing, and telescoping functions.

The carrier is compact, measuring 7,430 mm long, 2,000 mm wide, and 2,800 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. The minimum turning radius is 3.8 meters with four-wheel steering, making it exceptionally maneuverable in confined spaces. Maximum travel speed reaches 49 km/h.

Additional features include air-conditioned cab with dehumidifier, fully adjustable operator seat with headrest and armrests, centralized lubrication system, power windows, adjustable steering wheel, and operational pedals arranged for ergonomic control.

Altogether, the Tadano GR-120N-1 / GR-120NL-1 offers reliable lifting power, fast cycle times, and compact carrier dimensions that are ideal for urban construction, industrial maintenance, and utility work requiring efficient setup and operation in restricted spaces.
