Tadano TR-80ML

The Tadano TR-80ML rough terrain crane is built for small-scale yet demanding lifting tasks, particularly suited for tight or urban environments where maneuverability is critical. With a rated lifting capacity of 8,000 kg at a 2.5-meter radius (using a 7-part-line setup), it can also lift 2,000 kg at a 21.3-meter boom extension using a single-line hook. The maximum boom length reaches 21.3 meters, and with a boom extension, it extends further by 16.4 meters, offering a total lifting height of 37.7 meters. Maximum working radius spans up to 20.3 meters with the single top sheave.

The five-section telescopic boom (21.3m) is hydraulically actuated, with the first two sections extended sequentially and the remaining three simultaneously. Boom extension and retraction are assisted by a two-cylinder system. A single sheave is also mounted on the boom head for single-line operations.

Main and auxiliary winches are powered by hydraulic motors with planetary reducers. Both winches are capable of line pull up to 8.8 tons, with single line speeds up to 106 m/min (main winch) and 93 m/min (auxiliary). The winch rope diameter is 10mm, with lengths of 118m for the main and 50m for the auxiliary, both using spin-resistant wire rope.

The crane is powered by a HINO W04C-T, 4-cylinder water-cooled diesel engine delivering 140 PS at 3,000 rpm and a torque of 35 kg-m at 1,800 rpm. Transmission is managed through a power shift system offering 7 forward and 1 reverse speed settings, adaptable between 2WD and 4WD configurations. It rides on a welded box-type chassis with full-floating axles, parallel leaf spring suspension, and hydro-pneumatic braking on both axles, including a mechanically operated parking brake and hydraulic retarder system.

Mobility is a key strength, with a compact 6,695 mm overall length, 2,000 mm width, and a tight turning radius of 4.05 meters (4-wheel steer). The crane weighs 11,645 kg and can travel at speeds up to 49 km/h. The frame includes safety features like AML (Automatic Moment Limiter), outriggers with width indicators, over-winding protection, and hydraulic safety valves.

The TR-80ML’s operator environment includes a compact cab with adjustable seating, visibility features, and climate control options. Additional equipment includes a tire inflation kit and centralized oiling device, emphasizing ease of maintenance and operability. The crane also includes radio, TV (optional), and heater systems to ensure comfort and efficiency during extended field operations.
