Key Features & Benefits
The Zoomlion ZRT500V432 was developed as a compact rough terrain crane emphasizing versatility, mobility, and lifting efficiency for industrial and construction applications. Designed primarily for operations in restricted jobsites and undeveloped terrain, the crane combines high stability, short wheelbase dimensions, and a small turning radius with the ability to perform 360-degree slewing operations, on-tire lifting, and pick-and-carry duties. The crane is suitable for refinery maintenance, logistics operations, oil field construction, warehouse handling, and infrastructure projects where mobility and compact dimensions are essential.
The crane is equipped with a four-section box-type telescopic boom fabricated from high-strength steel using a U-shaped boom profile for improved rigidity and optimized structural weight. The boom extends hydraulically from 10.9 meters to 36 meters through two telescopic cylinders and synchronized extension ropes. The boom head is fitted with five pulleys to simplify reeving changes without removing wedges, while an optional rooster sheave can also be installed. Boom elevation ranges from -2° to 80°, enabling both low-radius heavy lifting and high-angle lifting applications. Full boom extension requires approximately 60 seconds while full retraction takes about 45 seconds. Derricking time from -2° to 80° is approximately 45 seconds upward and 75 seconds downward.
For additional lifting height and outreach, the crane can be equipped with a two-section lattice jib measuring 9 meters in length. The jib supports offset angles of 0°, 15°, and 30° and is side-stowed alongside the boom during transportation. With the jib installed, the crane achieves a maximum lifting height of approximately 57.8 meters, while the fully extended main boom provides a lifting height of approximately 38.2 meters.
The ZRT500V432 has a maximum rated lifting capacity of 50 tonnes at a 3-meter working radius and develops a maximum load moment of approximately 1,715 kN-m on the basic boom. Even with the boom fully extended, the crane maintains a lifting moment of approximately 826 kN-m. The crane supports full 360-degree continuous slewing and can operate with fully extended, half-extended, or fully retracted outriggers depending on site limitations and lifting requirements.
The hoisting system uses hydraulic main and auxiliary winches driven through axial variable plunger pumps and planetary reduction gearboxes. Both winches utilize identical components for simplified maintenance and operational consistency. High-strength wire rope with a diameter of 17 mm is used throughout the hoisting system. Maximum hoisting rope speed reaches approximately 150 meters per minute at the fourth rope layer, while maximum line pull is approximately 5,400 kg. The main winch stores approximately 160 meters of wire rope and the auxiliary winch stores approximately 105 meters. Hook equipment includes a rotatable 50-ton main hook block with five pulleys and a 4.5-ton auxiliary hook used with the jib or rooster sheave.
Power for the crane is supplied by a Dongfeng Cummins QSB6.7 turbocharged six-cylinder diesel engine with air-to-air intercooling and water cooling. Depending on market configuration, the engine produces approximately 194 kW at either 2,200 rpm or 2,400 rpm and develops maximum torque of approximately 990 Nm at 1,500 rpm. The engine complies with Chinese National Stage III non-road emission regulations. Fuel tank capacity is approximately 300 liters.
The drivetrain uses a DANA electrically controlled automatic hydraulic transmission with six forward and three reverse speeds. The crane can operate in both 4×2 and 4×4 drive modes, allowing either rear-wheel drive or full four-wheel drive depending on terrain conditions. Maximum traveling speed reaches approximately 38 km/h and maximum gradeability is rated at approximately 79%, providing excellent off-road mobility. The hydraulic pumps for the working systems and steering are directly driven from the transmission.
The carrier chassis uses heavy-duty front and rear steering drive axles manufactured by Meritor. The front axle is rigidly mounted while the rear axle adopts a swing axle arrangement connected through a hydraulic suspension cylinder to improve wheel articulation and terrain adaptability. The crane offers four steering modes including front-wheel steering, rear-wheel steering, coordinated four-wheel steering, and crab steering, greatly improving maneuverability in confined jobsites. The crane uses 23.5-25-32PR tires mounted on four wheels.
The hydraulic system utilizes two sets of dual gear pumps mounted on the transmission. The front pumps supply hydraulic power to boom telescoping, derricking, and hoisting functions, while the rear pumps power outriggers, braking systems, steering systems, slewing functions, and pilot controls. Hydraulic oil capacity is approximately 760 liters. The slewing mechanism consists of a hydraulic motor driving a planetary gear reducer and slewing ring assembly, providing smooth 360-degree continuous rotation at speeds up to 2 rpm. A hydraulically controlled normally-closed brake is installed for slewing control.
The outrigger system consists of H-type hydraulically controlled outriggers capable of simultaneous or independent operation. Each outrigger cylinder is equipped with a two-way hydraulic lock to improve safety during lifting operations. Outriggers can be fully extended, half extended, or fully retracted depending on available working space. Maximum outrigger spread reaches approximately 7.6 meters longitudinally and 7.5 meters laterally when fully extended.
The crane uses a single side-mounted cab serving as both the driving cab and operator cab. The left-hand-drive cab includes air conditioning, cab heater systems, hydraulic joystick controls, adjustable control boxes, and ergonomic layouts compliant with ISO and ASME B30.5 standards. Crane movements are controlled using two hydraulic joysticks with cross-shaft arrangements, while boom telescoping is controlled through a dedicated pedal. The crane is also equipped with a comprehensive rated capacity indicator system capable of displaying boom angle, boom length, working radius, lifting height, actual and rated lifting capacities, wire rope reeving, and outrigger status information.
