Product Description
The KA-1300RX from Kato is a high-capacity, fully hydraulic all-terrain crane that delivers exceptional lifting capabilities and operational flexibility. With a rated lifting capacity of 130 tons at a 2.5-meter radius, it’s suited for heavy industrial lifting tasks while remaining mobile and efficient on diverse terrains. The crane’s 6-section SUPERBOOM extends from 11.8 meters to 52.0 meters, built from high-tensile round-shaped steel for strength and stability during operations. For additional reach, the crane can be equipped with a 4-section Super Luffing Jib (SL Jib), which ranges from 9.2 meters to 26.6 meters, pushing the maximum lifting height to 79.6 meters.
At its peak jib configuration (52m boom + 26.6m SL jib at 45°), the crane maintains a capacity of 2.0 tons, and at a 58-meter working radius, it can still lift 0.7 tons. When the jib is removed, the boom alone can lift 12.0 tons at full extension. This wide operating envelope enables the KA-1300RX to handle diverse tasks ranging from urban building erection to plant equipment installations.
Mounted on a 5-axle KATO KA5161 carrier, the KA-1300RX features a powerful Daimler OM471LA engine compliant with EU Stage IV emissions standards. This 12.8-liter engine delivers 390 kW at 1,700 rpm and 2,460 Nm of torque at 1,300 rpm, transmitted via a fully automatic 6-speed transmission. The carrier offers full-axle steering and all-wheel drive (1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th axles), enabling a tight turning radius of just 10.5 meters and a top road speed of 75 km/h.
The hoisting system includes main and auxiliary winches driven by axial plunger motors, with a hoisting speed of 115 m/min on both winches. The main winch handles 19-part reeving at 6 m/min under full load conditions, while the auxiliary winch is optimized for fast, single-line operations. Slewing speed is selectable between two modes: high speed at 1.8 rpm and low speed at 0.95 rpm. The boom can derrick from -1.8° to 85° with a boom extension speed of 40.2 meters in 158 seconds.
Outrigger setup is highly flexible with six extension width positions ranging from 3.4 meters (minimum) to 8.4 meters (fully extended), using a hydraulic H-beam system. This enhances site adaptability while ensuring safe lifting conditions. The KA-1300RX supports multiple counterweight configurations (8.5t, 16t, 24t), and the rear tail swing radius is minimized to 4.1 meters, making it suitable for confined job sites.
Operator comfort and safety are front and center. The all-steel operator’s cab is mounted on rubber, tilts up to 15°, and is equipped with a modern touchscreen interface that integrates the Kato ACS (Automatic Crane System). This system provides load moment indicators, outrigger and boom monitoring, as well as alarms and camera feeds. Additional cabin features include an air conditioner, USB ports, AM/FM radio, adjustable suspension seat, and panoramic windows for maximum visibility.
The KA-1300RX is also equipped with transport-friendly features such as removable jib storage, boom dismount systems, and road-compliant dimensions (overall length 13.39m, height 2.88m, width 2.99m for the carrier). With both left-hand and right-hand drive options, and fuel tank capacity of 500 liters plus a 40-liter urea tank, this crane is suited for global deployment across various regulatory environments.
