Liebherr LTM 1055/1

Introduced as a versatile mid-range crane, the Liebherr LTM 1055/1 is engineered for efficient transport and on-site performance in demanding terrain. Its telescopic boom stretches from 10.2 meters to 40 meters, made from high-tensile fine-grained steel with Liebherr’s oviform profile, and operated via the “Telematik” rapid-cycle telescoping system. A single or double folding jib option is available, extending reach up to 16 meters and operable under 0°, 20°, or 40° angles.

The crane superstructure is powered by a diesel-hydraulic system with an axial variable displacement pump and a double gear pump, enabling simultaneous control of all four primary crane movements. Slewing is smooth and continuous, driven by an axial piston motor with planetary gears and a spring-loaded static brake, with slewing speeds infinitely adjustable.

Under the hood, the LTM 1055/1 is equipped with a Liebherr D926 TI-E A5 six-cylinder diesel engine rated at 270 kW (367 hp) and 1600 Nm torque. It is compliant with Euro 3 emissions standards and is coupled with a ZF 12-speed transmission (AS-TRONIC automated system). This setup ensures a top speed of 80 km/h and excellent maneuverability with an all-wheel steering configuration and planetary drive axles on the rear.

Suspension is provided by a hydro-pneumatic system with hydraulic locking, contributing to both travel comfort and lifting stability. The crane is outfitted with a 6-wheel (6×6) configuration and 14.00 R 25 tires, optionally upgradable to 16.00 or 20.5 R 25. It includes a 4-point hydraulic outrigger system for reliable stabilization during operation.

The crane cab, tiltable by 20°, includes ergonomic controls, self-centering joysticks, and Liebherr’s proprietary LICCON control system. Safety features such as hoist limit switches, pipe rupture safety valves, and electronic load moment indication are standard.

The LTM 1055/1 can be equipped with a standard 7-ton counterweight, with an additional 5-ton option available, bringing the total counterweight to 12 tons. Its maximum line speed is 120 m/min on a single line, and the maximum lifting height with extensions is approximately 56 meters (including fly jib).
