Tadano ATF 70G-4

The Tadano ATF 70G-4 is a 70-ton capacity all-terrain crane built on a 4-axle carrier with an 8×6 drive system, with an optional 8×8 configuration for enhanced off-road performance. It features a 5-section telescopic boom that extends from 11.0 m to 44.0 m, made from high-tensile fine-grained steel. For added reach, an optional swing-away jib of 9.0 m or 16.0 m can be mounted, with offset angles of 0°, 20°, or 40°, giving a maximum tip height of around 60 meters.

The crane is powered by two Mercedes-Benz engines. The carrier engine is a 6-cylinder OM 501 LA delivering 320 kW (435 hp), while the superstructure engine is a 4-cylinder OM 924 LA rated at 95 kW (129 hp). Both engines meet EUROMOT III B / EPA Tier 4i emission standards. The transmission is a ZF AS-Tronic 12-speed automatic, offering smooth gear shifting for highway travel and on-site maneuvering. The crane reaches a top speed of 85 km/h, making it efficient for job-to-job transport.

Operationally, the ATF 70G-4 is equipped with a high-performance hydraulic system, dual winches, and a slewing mechanism with a max speed of 2 rpm. The main hoist system includes planetary gearing, a hydraulic brake, and Tadano’s “Super-Stop” reaving system, allowing line speeds up to 120 m/min. A hydraulically mounted counterweight system (max 11.9 t) ensures stability and ease of setup.

The operator cab is spacious and ergonomic, featuring a tiltable design, joystick controls, air conditioning, and engine pre-heating. Additional options include a heavy-duty jib, central lubrication, extra lighting, and remote diagnostics. Overall, the ATF 70G-4 is a dependable and flexible crane ideal for urban construction, infrastructure work, and general lifting operations.
