Product Description
The Link-Belt HTC-50 hydraulic truck crane is a versatile and durable machine tailored for construction and industrial lifting needs where mobility and precision are paramount. It is built on an 8×4 drive chassis, measuring 8’0″ (2.44 m) in width with a 228″ (5.79 m) wheelbase. The frame is constructed from high-strength, all-welded steel with integral 100,000 psi (689.5 MPa) steel outrigger boxes for enhanced structural integrity and stability during lifts.
The crane’s standard boom configuration includes a four-section hydraulic boom extending from 37’6″ to 120’0″ (11.98 m to 36.58 m), constructed from high-strength steel with diamond-shaped impressions to increase lateral stiffness. This boom design enables precise control and reliability even at full extension. Additional reach is provided by optional jib extensions, including a 30′ (9.14 m) A-frame type jib with adjustable offsets of 5°, 17.5°, or 30°, and a straight 28′ (8.53 m) lattice extension. When combined, the extensions can achieve a maximum jib length of 80’0″ (24.38 m), providing exceptional flexibility for job sites requiring elevated or offset lifts.
The crane’s load handling is powered by a tandem, triple gear-type hydraulic pump with system pressure up to 2,800 psi (193.1 Bars). The crane also incorporates FMC’s exclusive Dual Mode hoist system, offering standard hydraulic control as well as a two-shoe clutch for operator-controlled gravity lowering. This system is further supported by a two-speed hoist motor and large 18″ x 4-1/2″ (0.46 m x 0.11 m) clutch/brake drums integrated with a 23″ (0.58 m) brake band. Maximum line pull is rated at 16,800 lbs (7,620 kg) with a line speed of 479 f.p.m. (146.00 m/min), enabling quick and powerful lifting operations.
The crane is equipped with bi-directional swing powered by a hydraulic motor mounted to an FMC reducer, allowing 360° continuous rotation at 2.7 rpm. Counterweight options vary by configuration, with standard setups supporting up to 8,100 lbs (3,674 kg) depending on boom and auxiliary winch choices.
For carrier propulsion, the HTC-50 offers a choice of two engines. The GM 6-71N is a 6-cylinder, 2-stroke diesel rated at 238 hp and 635 ft-lbs of torque, while the Cummins NTCC-230 is a 6-cylinder, 4-stroke diesel with 230 hp and 650 ft-lbs of torque. Both engines support a top speed of up to 50.59 mph (81.40 km/h) with gradeability up to 68%, depending on configuration. Each engine is paired with a Fuller Roadranger RTO-613 transmission, offering 13 forward speeds and 3 reverse.
The chassis includes Reyco spring suspension in front and Hendrickson solid-mounted bogie suspension in the rear. Tires include 12.00 x 20 (16-ply) front and 11.00 x 20 (12-ply) rear, with an option for rear lug-type tires. The brake system features dual wedge-type air brakes and spring-applied emergency brakes that activate under 70 psi (4.83 Bars).
Inside, the carrier cab is fully enclosed and humanized with vinyl trim, rubber insulation, and electric accessories including wipers, defrosters, and mirrors. The operator cab offers a 4-way adjustable seat, weather-sealed windows, and full instrumentation for crane control. Standard safety features include a fire extinguisher, emergency lighting, backup alarms, and more.
