Product Description

Debuting as a modernized model in Tadano’s truck crane lineup, the TG-450M-2 enhances operational flexibility through its five-section hexagonal box boom that extends from 10.65 to 40.0 meters, using synchronized hydraulic telescoping on sections 2 and 3, with stages 4 and 5 also operating in synchronization. Boom extension is accomplished via three double-acting hydraulic cylinders and a rope-type telescoping mechanism, achieving full extension in just under two minutes.

The crane is also fitted with a dual-stage swing-around jib, available at 9.0 and 16.0 meters, and offsettable at 5° or 30°, extending the maximum lifting height to 55.5 meters with the jib in use. Maximum working radius reaches 36.0 meters with the standard boom, and up to 38.0 meters when configured for heavy-duty work. The boom elevation range is between -2.5° to 82°, completed in 58 seconds.

For hoisting operations, the TG-450M-2 is equipped with twin winches powered by hydraulic motors via helical gear reducers, offering reliable lifting with automatic brakes and free-fall devices. Line speed from the main winch reaches 106 meters/min in high-speed mode and 53 meters/min in low-speed mode. A separate auxiliary winch supports 90 meters/min in high range.

The crane runs on a carrier equipped with a Nissan RE8 4-cycle V8 diesel engine delivering 315 PS at 2,300 rpm and 105 kg·m of torque at 1,400 rpm. Power is transmitted through a 5-speed transmission with 1 reverse gear and synchronized-mesh gears in 2nd to 5th. The carrier chassis features a welded box-frame with laminated leaf springs in front and rear, plus recirculating screw-type power steering. It achieves a top travel speed of 65 km/h with a gradeability of 29%.

Its compactness is reflected in the dimensions: an overall length of 13.47 meters, width of 2.82 meters, and a height of 3.6 meters. The turning radius is kept at a minimum 11.8 meters, enhancing maneuverability in confined spaces.

For stability and safety, the fully hydraulic H-type outriggers can extend up to 6.8 meters, while numerous safety features are onboard including an automatic moment limiter (AML-US), over-winding cutout, winch drum lock, jack alarms, and hydraulic counterbalance valves.

Operator comfort and usability are addressed with a well-appointed cabin that includes radio, fan, heater, and crane-specific displays such as boom angle indicators and winch drum rotation meters.

The TG-450M-2 supports optional heavy-duty attachments and is designed to meet the demands of construction, utility installation, and infrastructure work.
