Product Description
In March 2017, at the Conexpo construction machinery trade show in Las Vegas, Liebherr announced its new series of rough terrain cranes with the launch of the LRT 1090-2.1 and LRT 1100-2.1 models, extending its mobile crane portfolio into the 90-tonne (100 USt) and 100-tonne (110 USt) classes. The introduction of these cranes marked Liebherr’s commitment to expanding its range of rough terrain solutions tailored for demanding off-road conditions and global markets.
The LRT 1090-2.1 is a 2-axle crane with a maximum lifting capacity of 90 tonnes, featuring a 47-meter telescopic boom. The LRT 1100-2.1, its sibling model, offers a maximum capacity of 100 tonnes with a longer 50-meter telescopic boom. Both cranes are powered by a six-cylinder Cummins diesel engine producing 194 kW (264 hp) and maximum torque of 990 Nm, compliant with international emission standards. Their chassis include large 29.5 R 25 tires, high ground clearance, and advanced 4-wheel steering and drive, ensuring excellent maneuverability and terrain performance.
A standout feature on both models is the standard Liebherr VarioBase® outrigger system, which continuously adjusts load charts in real time according to outrigger extension positions, providing maximum lifting capacity and operational safety even in confined job sites. Coupled with Liebherr’s proven hydro-mechanical telescoping system—incorporating rope pull technology—the boom can be extended to required lengths quickly and safely under partial load conditions.
Operators benefit from extra-wide cabs, 220 mm wider than typical cranes, delivering superior visibility, ergonomic controls, and a 20° tilt function for overhead lifting comfort. Liebherr’s LICCON2 control system is standard, providing advanced load monitoring, diagnostics, and operational control, along with features such as automatic support leveling and an integrated test system.
The combination of VarioBase®, powerful drivetrain, proven boom technology, and exceptional operator-focused design makes the LRT 1090-2.1 and LRT 1100-2.1 ideal for infrastructure, construction, and industrial projects demanding high performance and reliable lifting in rough terrain conditions.
