Product Description
The Link-Belt HTC-814 is a hydraulic truck crane with a 14-ton (12.7 metric ton) capacity that excels in light to moderate lifting applications. The crane features a robust, Link-Belt patented 3-section boom design with lengths from 32 ft to 80 ft (9.75 m to 24.38 m), using base and two power sections. An optional four-section configuration extends boom length to 101 ft (30.78 m), with the final section manually extended and locked via a cylinder mechanism.
The boom construction includes diamond-embossed side plates and high-strength steel chords rated to 100,000 psi (689.5 MPa), ensuring both strength and weight optimization. Boom telescoping sections are reinforced with wear shoes for smooth vertical and horizontal extension. A Load Moment Indicator provides audio-visual warnings with anti-two block and function lockout capabilities, ensuring safe operation.
Boom head features a 14.5 in (0.37 m) root diameter with twin sheaves capable of handling up to 8 parts of 5/8 in (16 mm) wire rope, while an optional auxiliary lifting sheave allows for multiple reeving setups without interfering with the jib. Boom elevation is managed via a single hydraulic cylinder with a -3° to 80° range.
Jib options include a 21 ft (6.4 m) A-frame stowable jib and an optional 29 ft (8.84 m) fly with a 2° offset, both offering multiple offset angles (5°, 17.5°, 30°) and attachable to the fly only.
A bi-directional swing system, powered by a planetary reducer, enables smooth 360° rotation at up to 2.05 rpm. A standard foot-operated swing brake and mechanical swing lock provide secure positioning. The counterweight is pinned to the upperstructure frame for secure installation.
Hydraulic power comes from a three-section gear-type main pump producing 133 gpm (503.4 lpm), and operating at 2,900 psi (200 bar). The hydraulic reservoir holds 110 gallons (416 L), and the system features six control valves for simultaneous crane operations. A six-micron filter supports hydraulic cleanliness and longevity.
The HTC-814 is mounted on an 8 ft (2.44 m) wide, 216 in (5.49 m) wheelbase carrier with a 6×4 drive standard and optional 6×6 drive. The all-welded high-strength steel frame integrates 100,000 psi (689.5 MPa) steel outrigger boxes. Standard power hydraulic outriggers with vertical jacks extend up to 18 ft (5.49 m) centerline-to-centerline and retract to within 8 ft (2.44 m), with optional front bumper jack for full 360° lifting.
Carrier performance is supported by a Fuller Roadranger RT-6613 transmission (13 forward, 3 reverse) with optional Allison MT-653DR 5-speed automatic. The standard Lipe-Rollway clutch and Sheppard steering offer a 50 ft (15.42 m) turning radius. Suspension includes front springs and a 50 in (1.27 m) solid rear bogie.
Cab comforts include full insulation, electric wipers, four-way adjustable seat, and full instrumentation. An optional engine block heater, winterization package, and towing gear are available for cold or remote environments.
The HTC-814 blends the rugged functionality expected of Link-Belt cranes with user-friendly operation, making it a versatile solution for utility work, steel erection, and general construction tasks where transportability, reliability, and safety are key.
